Our venue is Searles Leisure Resort , on the Norfolk coast beside the Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton – ‘Sunny Hunny’ – Searles is an award winning UK holiday resort for families and couples that has been welcoming holidaymakers and creating happiness for all ages for over 83 years.
Searles’ has a great range of accommodation and fantastic event space which we are really excited to see full of games and gamers. The site and some of the accommodation is dog friendly although dogs are not permitted in what will be the gaming areas.
For ConTingency we are the sole booking, this means that the regular on site activities will not be running and some of the facilities will be closed. The pool and gym will be open (additional fees for the gym) and there is a sports centre at the far end of the camp plus of course the beach for those who want to be a bit more active. We will be turning the bars into gaming halls and filling them with gamers. Our open space will include trade stalls, the admin desk, bring and buy stall, raffle and of course somewhere to buy food and drink. The guest accommodation is spacious enough to be used for games if you prefer somewhere quieter and more atmospheric.
The onsite shop will most likely not be open, but there is a Tesco's directly opposite the site entrance which is open 6am until Midnight . Tesco also has a petrol station and cash machines if you need them.
